Term 3 Week 10 Newsletter
Leadership Insights

As we conclude this term, it's a wonderful time to pause and celebrate the many blessings and opportunities that our school community has brought to life. Our recent cyclic review was a fantastic opportunity to share our authentic story, highlighting the importance of continuous improvement and our shared vision as we move forward together.
The Week of Worship was a true testament to our unity, with both students and staff embracing the chance to grow in faith and follow God’s guiding light in their lives. The inspiring message of "Be Still" reminded us of our calling to live with integrity, respect and joy.
In sports, our teams have represented Prescott with immense pride at the SACSA Basketball event. Their display of teamwork, perseverance, and joy, both on and off the court, exemplified the strong community spirit that defines us. The camaraderie among teammates and the unwavering support from our coaching staff truly reinforced our collective spirit.
Throughout our campus, exciting improvements continue to flourish. The outdoor classroom now features a new enclosure, vibrant gardens and pots add colour to our surrounds, and the fish pond is on its way to becoming a serene spot for curiosity and reflection. Landscape murals have been installed on the front of the school and octagonal bee paintings adorn the canteen wall.
At the main gate entrance, our school values are prominently displayed, serving as daily reminders to embody Integrity, Respect and Joy. Collaboratively, staff and students worked with Sketch group to create a graphic representation of our Personal Responsibility Policy, infusing creativity and ownership into this essential project.
As I reflect on the term, I am reminded of Paul’s encouraging words: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). With grateful hearts, let’s celebrate our growth, our vibrant community, andGod’s unwavering faithfulness.

Adelaide University Visit Prescott College
Adelaide Uni visited our Year 12s to discuss career paths and also the changes happening with the University amalgamations. It was a very informative and insightful session, preparing them for the year ahead.

Year 11 Wellbeing Excursion
Year 11B participated in a wellbeing excursion designed to strengthen friendships, build resilience, and encourage students to reach their full potential. Through this team-building activity and reflective conversations, students developed stronger rapport with each other and their teachers. The excursion fostered trust, cooperation, and a deeper sense of belonging within the group. This excursion was a valuable reminder that when we invest in relationships, we create the foundation for both personal and academic growth.

Year 7B Bible Class
This term, I had the privilege of stepping back into the classroom with our Year 7B Bible students. As their principal, it was a joy to see how smoothly the transition unfolded and how quickly students engaged with our unit on “Transformation.” Together, we explored powerful Bible stories—The Woman at the Well, Zacchaeus, and Naaman the Leper—each reminding us of the life-changing impact of encountering Jesus.
To deepen their understanding, students worked in groups to create scripts and skits based on these stories. Starting with a basic framework, they added their own insights and creativity, bringing Scripture to life in fresh and meaningful ways. Beyond the classroom, they also took on a 21-day transformation challenge, designed to help form positive habits in their everyday lives. Each day, we committed to:
- Move our body (exercise) for 15-30 minutes
- Read/Reflect (10 minutes of reading or journalling)
- Water & healthy food (4-6 cups of water and one healthy snack)
- Acts of Kindness (helping, encouraging, showing gratitude, cleaning up)
- Mind & Heart check (asking, ‘Did I act with integrity today?’ and writing a short reflection)
The culmination of this journey was celebrated in our final double lesson of the term, where parents were invited to enjoy student performances, take part in games, and share in healthy snacks and still/sparkling water—beautifully prepared by Mrs. Jaekel.
Commenting on the 21 Challenge, students said the following:
‘I struggled to find 10 minutes to read, but I will be working on this from now on.’
‘Drinking water was hard.’
‘My family got involved and we would go on long walks together.’
It was a joyful experience to once again be among our students in the classroom, watching them learn, create, and grow.
Thank you for welcoming me into your space, 7B. My prayer is that the lessons and habits formed this term will remind you that true transformation begins with an encounter with Jesus. With God’s help, we can all take steps toward building new habits that lead to a transformed life.

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."
Dear Prescott People
I hope you are doing well. We've made it through three terms now! It's crazy how fast the year has gone! Now we're into the hectic stage of school especially for our Year 12s.
Over the weekend, I attended a program called Catalyst and one big takeaway was the importance of dwelling in the presence of God. What does that mean?
In the busyness of high school life - classes, sports, exams, and friendships, it's easy to feel overwhelmed or disconnected. But there's a quiet powerful invitation waiting for each of us: to dwell in the presence of God.
To "dwell" means more than just visiting briefly, it means to stay within, To continuously remain. Psalm 91:1 says, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." God's presence is not limited to chapel or Week of Worship or even in your own personal quiet time - it's a constant place of peace and strength, available to you continually.
So whether you're in a classroom, on the field, or walking the halls, remember: God is with you. You're never alone. Make time to dwell, even for a moment. You'll be surprised by how much strength and clarity that one choice can bring.
Have an amazing holiday family! And dwell in God's presence always!
The chaplains are always here to help.
